They were worn around the neck & wrists of men, women, and their children. Torcs were made from gold, silver, bronze, copper, and Iron. Torcs were not just beautiful works of Celtic art & skills. They identified the wearer’s status, proving that they were someone of importance. This piece of jewellery protected the neck during a sword fight; Torcs were valuable heirlooms and passed down with pride. Torcs were also thought to represent Celtic gods and ward off evil spirits.
