Saint Brigid
This is a one-of-a-kind large copper artwork in a one-of-a-kind large frame.
I crafted this large beautiful repoussé copper artwork of “The many facets of Brigit” framed in a hand-carved Phoenix Celtic knot vintage frame.
This is a traditional Celtic- handcrafted copper, representing a continuation of a long tradition of Celtic arts, which began with my ancient forefathers, “The Ancient Celts”, crafted with Celtic magic in an ancient, honoured tradition
St Brigit Ireland is the only women saint. There are a few slightly different versions of life. Here is one of them.
Saint Brigid was born Brigit, who shares her name with a Celtic goddess with whom many legends & folk customs are associated. There is some debate over whether Brigid was a real person. She has the same name plus many of the same attributes as the Celtic goddess Brigid. There are many supernatural events, legends, and folk customs associated with her. Brigid, the goddess in Irish mythology, is associated with poetry, healing, smithcraft, protection, and domestic animals like the saint. Furthermore, the saint’s feast day falls on the traditional Gaelic festival of Imbolc. Some scholars suggest that the saint is a Christianisation of the goddess Brigid. …
This is one version of the tale of Saint Brigid. She was born in 451 AD, near Dundalk, County Louth, Ireland.
There is much debate over her birth parents, but it is widely believed her mother was Brocca, a Christian baptised by Saint Patrick; her father was Dubthach, a Leinster chieftain. Brocca was enslaved. Therefore Brigid was born into slavery.
The copper wall art is so beautiful in its simplicity. Handcrafted in pure copper, oxidised to bring out the aged copper patina colours, the effect is warm and understated and would complement any home decor style. This elegant copper art will bring you joy and is perfect for placing in a prominent position on the wall of a living room, entrance, or anywhere.
. I am trying to keep the art of copper repousse alive. Copper repousse is among the skills that are all but a lost, forgotten art.
Just as in nature, there will be flaws. I tend to be drawn to the ‘wear,’ finding it infinitely more beautiful and exciting than the flawless perfection of manufactured pieces.

These are individually handcrafted copper artworks, not to be confused with cheap, mass-produced manufactured items that are machine-made. Instead, they are handcrafted with Celtic magic by the traditional Irish artisan Tom Hughes’s studio in Bass Hill
