Celtic Dog Torc & Dara Knot Copper Art

This beautiful repoussé copper artwork of “Celtic Dog Torc & Dara Knot”.

This is a traditional Celtic- handcrafted copper, representing a continuation of a long tradition of Celtic arts, which began with my ancient forefathers, “The Ancient Celts”, crafted with Celtic magic in an ancient, honoured tradition.

A torc, also spelled torq or torque, is a large rigid ring of metal crafted either in a single piece or from several strands of metal that are twisted together.
In Celtic cultures, torcs were a standard piece of jewellery in Celtic society. Celts wore torcs to demonstrate that they were free-born. They were worn around the neck & wrists of men, women, and their children. Torcs were made from gold, silver, bronze, copper, and Iron. Torcs were not just beautiful works of Celtic art & skills. They identified the wearer’s status, proving that they were someone of importance.
Celtic dogs
Celtic dogs are deeply symbolic in their meanings & symbolism of companionship felt between humans and animals., Celtic dogs also symbolise courage, honour, loyalty, protection, good luck, plus guidance. They also can travel between worlds as shapeshifters. The symbol of the dog is commonly found in Celtic art and decor.
Dogs were vital to hunting Celts rarely hunted without a dog. They were also trained to assist the Celts in battle. The dog was such a revered companion that the highest compliment one could make to a Celtic warrior was to compare him to his dog.

The copper wall art is so beautiful in its simplicity. Handcrafted in pure copper, oxidised to bring out the aged copper patina colours, the effect is warm and understated and would complement any home decor style. This elegant copper art will bring you joy and is perfect for placing in a prominent position on the wall of a living room, entrance, or anywhere.
. I am trying to keep the art of copper repousse alive. Copper repousse is among the skills that are all but a lost, forgotten art.

Just as in nature, there will be flaws. However, I tend to be drawn to the ‘wear,’ finding it infinitely more beautiful and exciting than the flawless perfection of manufactured pieces.

The copper art is 210 x 297 mm; the Frame size is 275mm x 375 mm.

This copper art is crafted to order; The copper artwork can be crafted in different sizes if the client desires.
